I am having a similar issue
Running WinXP Pro, and unable to detect my serial Spaceball 4000. Installed the 2.8.2 package, checked all connections, and WinXP does not seem to know where the device is. If there is a list of steps to entirely delete WinXP's history of having been connected to the device (e.g. registry entries an...
