I Solved it !!!
I found out that in newer Pc's you can define the type of the COM port at the bios. The one thst should be used is EPP and not SPP.

did you mean the "legacy software" (if so then wich one do i need for solidworks 2007 and photoshop CS2) or it's somwhere else ?

a friend of mine gave the magellan a day ago and it came with a wierd COM port male-male connector with AC adaper connected to it. i have no female COM on my pc so i wonder how can i (and if i need this connector) connect it to my PC, because i connected it without this connector and the 3DxWare sof...
