Thanks Fred! I did both those things and the auto rotation center is now working.

sometimes the auto rotation center in solidworks doesnt work and often the object is moving without me touching the 3dmouse.... it is checked in properties and everything seems ok, but it still does not always work.... I'm having the same trouble where the auto rotation center does not work in Soli...
