Yeah, I agree its weird that it shows the receiver at all, considering none of the devices show connected to it. I unplug, plug in again and poof, all devices instantly show again. Very frustrating -definitely something to do with a standby mode, but it doesn't do this with my wacom or logitech dong...

I just wanted to note that I am having this same issue. I had reverted back to the prior version, but have had to upload to the newest version because I just received the CADMouse wireless (which I'm liking so far.) Thank you for posting the wired workaround, this is working for me.

Actually, I think I have this figured out! Rotating clockwise/counter-clockwise seems to zoom in both excel and word. I have encountered the same problem. Spacemouse wireless works fantastic in everything except office 2013 apps, no scroll, zoom capability at all in any of the office apps though.
