Re: spacemouse compact buttons

This is what we are trying to avoid by suggesting our SDK (at least our v3 SDK). With RawInput, you have to deal with these device differences. And you have no realistic way of knowing what future devices will bring. I have put all the button event details in a file you can access. You will find the...

Re: New default button profiles

That's a good suggestion. There is no GUI support for it but you can do it by editing XML files. In general, as soon as you make some change to a configuration using the GUI, those changes are now tied to the application that was in focus. Some applications, like Explorer, are used so often, making ...

Re: Strange offset HID, SpaceMouse Wireless

Yes, you are right. I missed that digit after the decimal pt. What's the other value in there (93.6) mean? What do you mean by "without any human input"? You aren't touching the device? If it is a wireless device, it will send a battery packet after you release the cap. That may be misinterpreted by...

Re: Strange offset HID, SpaceMouse Wireless

I must be missing something. Those two images look identical to me (other than the color). Are you holding a steady force in one direction and holding it? If so, I'd suspect some sort of drift correction. If it is the SMW, you would have to hold it very steady at that value - how much are you displa...

Re: Global Mapping

(Thread readers: As of 3DxWare 10.8, you shouldn't edit Base.xml. You should be able to do more of what you want w/o editing Base.xml. The biggest problem with editing that file, is that it will get overwritten when you install an update and all your changes will be lost. We are trying to provide a...

Re: Cannot send modifier key from axis output

Very close. The Modifiers are on the entire event, not just the KeyStroke (that was my thinking anyway). The correct syntax (e.g.) is: <Axis> <Enabled>true</Enabled> <Input> <ActionID>HIDMultiAxis_Ry</ActionID> <Min>0</Min> <Max>511</Max> </Input> <Output> <ActionID>KB_Keystroke</ActionID> <Scale>1....

Re: Global Mapping

With the KBP you may have a better option. When you press the FN key (to the right of the space bar), it uses a different cfg that is available everywhere in every application. You might want to edit that cfg so your changes are always available (when holding down the FN key). This is the same cfg y...

Re: use older devices with new sdk

Device support is more tied to the driver release than the SDK. But, newer SDKs may rely on features only implemented (and delivered) with a new driver. The "old SDK" (pre-4.0) has been around forever and has remained relatively unchanged in the core functionality that you probably use. There are no...

Re: Issues with Win v10.8.3.3389 driver: lumpy motion, 3DxVirtualLCD uses 100% CPU, Lock rotate button has no effect,

Export/Import is a work in progress... It currently isn't anything more than just a file copy. You can't go backwards in driver versions "too far". You can't cross a CfgFormatVersion number (go to a lower one--old drivers don't know about new file formats). And you can't go forwards "too far". The d...

Re: Spacemouse Pro as media jogger?

It's dependent on the audio/video software.
If it accepts keyboard keys to jog, then the driver can output those.

Otherwise, there are often plugin possibilities.

There are third party solutions that are very flexible converting input from devices to specialized usages.

Re: Spacemouse how to determine available buttons

You are using Raw Input? We would prefer that you use one of our SDKs as they hide most of the hardware details from you. We are not trying to be sneaky. We want to isolate your code from changes in our hardware, in particular, the release of new devices. We don't want to require you to make code ch...

Re: Zbrush NEEDS to use crt + shift + alt (disable popup settings window)

If this is a common operation, rather than press the individual buttons, would it be useful to assign all three button presses to a single button macro?
