Re: how to make 3d mouse control an object in my own program?

The general idea with the latest SDK is that you don't get raw events from the device. When something happens on the device, the SDK asks for your view matrix, it changes it to reflect whatever happened on the 3D mouse and it returns a new view matrix to your application. This completely isolates yo...

Re: how to make 3d mouse control an object in my own program?

That's a pretty open-ended question.
You need to start by asking how to move 3D objects in the 3D API you are using.
Then you need to hook up the 3D mouse to that mechanism.

Re: eDrawings VR mode

Please ask eDrawings support about this. It looks like a very nice product. A 3D mouse, a headset and a 3D pointing device (their laser pointer) would all work very well together. It is unreasonable to ask a user to "get up and walk around a scene", or "spin around in his chair", when the 3D mouse p...

Are you opening either the 2D schematics or 3D view part of the application?

Re: Raspberry Pi

You may need to unstall pyusb.
Something like:
apt-get install python libusb-1.0-0
pip install pyusb

Re: Raspberry Pi

There is no driver for the RPi. Interesting idea though. I can see all sorts of possibilities.
The only solution ATM is to directly read the device.
You will need to link in the required libraries.

Re: Spacemouse wireless as a normal mouse

Those are all good questions. IMO also, the device has extensive applicability. Fundamentally there are few limitations to what you can do. But there is a steep learning curve. The devices have some limitations. They have a limited range of motion and reported values. Most importantly the axes are s...

I need a bit more context to answer that.

What are the specifics about the request?
An example?

Re: Space mouse. Assigning X/Y axis to keyborad arrows

I just used your file with a fresh download of Opera.

You can see what is being sent by turning on "Write Log File" under the 3Dx systray icon, the using baretail to watch the end of the log file (%localappdata%\3Dconnnexion\3DxWare\3DxService.log).

Re: Space mouse. Assigning X/Y axis to keyborad arrows

<Continuing here so others can read it> I only opened two slides, but I can zoom and pan. It seems that Shift+arrows moves in larger increments than just arrows. If anything I'd like to slow it down (you can control the event rate and lower the deadband). I like it a little better w/o Shift. Do you ...
