I did not use time machine. I even brought my newer SpaceMouse Compact in to my work today and it doesn't work either.

I am seeing the same issue. Numerous uninstalls and reinstalls, disabled the SIP from recovery mode, tried an older driver version, even updated my OS to Tahoe (was running Sequoia) and reinstalled the latest driver and nothing worked. My SpaceMouse Compact is not recognized by 3DConnexion software ...
