OK, I'm embarassed to say I've solved part of my own problem. In IV2009, the behavior appears to have changed a bit. If you re-map Front and Top views, there is now a 'Front View' command available (different from 'Front') in the button mapping. So this solves the Front and Top problems. Problem rem...

Inventor view plane mappings in IV 2008 / 2009?
Is it possible to change the button mappings on SpacePilot to match my IV 2009 mappings? If I use ViewCube in IV to map Front View = +XZ plane, the SpacePilot F button still wants to take me to +XY (which in my experience has always been 'top' view) Any assistance appreciated.
