never mind, it works now, had to make a new plugins folder, not in app data but in the blender folder, weird but now it works

oh I have the space navigator, and it works fine in all other applications (like sketchup, google earth, photoshop)

I've searched, and the only thing I've found is this thread (http://www.3dconnexion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3450) but what he did in there doesn't work for me (the driver simply ignores any modified profiles I make), so my question is, how should I get this to work properly? I'm using blender 2.49...
