Re: Remote Desktop use of local Space Navigator

antonynealrobinson, The software does use Global. There are many ways of doing this assignment. I suggested Base.xml because, normally, these keys are not overridden anywhere, so the assignment will come from Base.xml. If they are overridden in Global, and that ButtonBank is in use, then they will c...

Re: Remote Desktop use of local Space Navigator

You need to restart 3DxService.exe if you change Base.xml. You don't need to reboot. These alternate Shift/Ctrl/etc options will not appear in the GUI. If you assign some other function to these keys, they will override your Base.xml assignments. It is possible to make them available in the GUI, but...

Re: Remote Desktop use of local Space Navigator

Those changes can be anywhere 3DxService is running. It causes the driver to use a different mechanism to generate those key events. It should work everywhere. It doesn't change normal keyboard macros (longer strings of keys). I don't think those will work. If you look in our Base.xml file (Program ...

Re: Remote Desktop use of local Space Navigator

You can assign your keyboard modifier keys to different functions in the driver. These functions work over a network connection. You have to do this manually though. There are many ways of doing this, but the easiest way is to modify the Base.xml file in your 3DxWinCore installation directory. This ...

Re: Change zoom direction without reversing zoom and rotation

The RadioButton control is the two circles with a dot in one of them under the label "Zoom Direction". It's a reference to an "old-fashioned" radio, as in a car, where you press one button and all the other buttons release. IOW, only one option (station) can be selected at once. Yes, it is advisable...

Re: System Volume control

Yes, you can add it there. But that file will get overwritten the next time you install 3DxWare.

Re: System Volume control

Sorry. The volume ButtonActions seem to have been removed from the menus. You can add these assignments manually by editing your Global.xml in %appdata%/3dconnexion/3dxware/cfg. E.g., for a Cadmouse Pro: <ButtonActions> <ButtonAction Type="Driver_Other"> <ID>Driver_VolumeDown</ID> <Name>Volume Down<...

Re: Change zoom direction without reversing zoom and rotation

You can't control what the RadioButton does. It has its own plan.
But if you want to undo part of what it has done (like the rotation axis swap), you can change the cfg file that it wrote in %appdata%/3Dconnexion/3DxWare/cfg.
If you use the RadioButton again, it will overwrite your change.

Re: Can I use the SpaceMouse to play call of duty?

If the game will allow a joystick to be used for this, the 3D mouse can be put into a joystick mode.

Re: value range obtained by SI_MOTION_EVENT

The scaling is probably caused by these lines in the default cfg that you are getting. <Settings> <ResponseCurve>1.7</ResponseCurve> <ScaleX>4.00</ScaleX> <ScaleY>4.00</ScaleY> <ScaleZ>4.00</ScaleZ> <ScaleRx>4.00</ScaleRx> <ScaleRy>4.00</ScaleRy> <ScaleRz>4.00</ScaleRz> </Settings> This is for backw...

Re: Spacemouse grab hard

There is no official support for this, but it will probably work for you. It is something you would have to do every time you upgraded your 3DxWare installation. Please file a support request on our web site so the people who make these decisions know of your request. You might want to do a back up ...

Re: Blue led under lock button

Sorry, there is no way to do that. I like the way you think though. Every flag that has a state could try to set a physical indicator to show the state. We have had that in the past for the various SpacePilot devices for the three filter options (Trans, Rot, Dom). Unfortunately, that was removed ove...

Re: Spacemouse grab hard

Interesting question. It's the first time I've heard it. It does make perfect sense, but it unfortunately doesn't work that way. It actually Grabs the connection to the app, which happens to use the cfg file you placed the <Grab> in. Not the other way around. It's a cfg based implementation of an AP...

Re: change relative orientation of buttons?

To "rotate the device" by 90 degrees, you can change the first transformation done to the axes. If you make this change in our Base.xml file, all applications will use it, unless an application-specific file changes it. The application-specific Zoom Direction option in our GUI changes this. Those ch...
