Re: Is it possible to disable automatic recalibration from the XML config?

Hello Marin,

There is not an XML element for controlling this feature. It's not a bad idea through.

I can send you an executable to turn it off. You have to run it every time the device reboots. It will turn it on when it restarts.
What device type do you have?

Re: 3DxWare not loading in 2018!

The log file is %localappdata%\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\3DxService.log
You can PM me a dropbox-type location to it.

Re: 3DxWare not loading in 2018!

The LEDs are not application-specific (although it is an interesting idea). If they are enabled, they should always be on, as long as the driver is running. If the driver is not running, and you start Creo, the driver will get started (and turn on the LEDs). That would be very unusual. Normally the ...

Re: Configuration of device orientation possible?

Hello stereotaxis, The device is a standard USB device. There are other APIs you can use that go directly to the device. In general, you can still use the driver, if installed, to modify the data stream, but you don't need the driver installed. The advantages of having the driver and using our API a...

Re: Apply Left/Right button Mappings to all applications?

The forum is extremely useful for us to find out what issues customers are having, and things they want. I always look forward to getting feedback. The operating system notifies the driver when you change a file. It is independent of the device. The use of the Desktop.xml file is detailed here. When...

Re: 3DxWare not loading in 2018!

If it fails again, turn on driver logging (3Dx systray icon). If the driver is having a hard time accessing the device, it might log a message about it. Your system drivers seem to be installed correctly. If the LEDs don't work, it could be a power issue. There have been reports in the past about ma...

Re: Apply Left/Right button Mappings to all applications?

You bring up several very good ideas. There are ways of doing these things, completely undocumented, and rarely tested. And there's no GUI to help you. There's nothing wrong with copying files around. The driver has to read the entire file anyway. So there's not much difference between changing one ...

Re: Apply Left/Right button Mappings to all applications?

It is possible, but the GUI can't help you.
The global.xml file needs to be changed to assign these buttons globally.

I'll help you with that.
What do you want to assign the buttons to?

There are some issues with some applications which we have plugins for.
Which applications are you using?

Re: Remote Desktop use of local Space Navigator

antonynealrobinson,

Some of the keyboard keys (ctrl, shift, alt, esc, del, enter) have an alternate implementation that will probably work over RDP.
I'll send you a PM for something you can try.

Re: As a 2D Mouse too, on Windows 10?

I've put a Desktop.xml that is for 3DxWare version 10.6.7 (CfgFormatVersion="1.3") here: Desktop.xml Put this file into %programdata%\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\Cfg. (You need a very recent driver) This starts in Windows Desktop mode. That is, no matter which application is in focus, the driver/device will...

Re: As a 2D Mouse too, on Windows 10?

It's probably not an up-to-date file. There have been a lot of versions of files, with a lot of different instructions in various threads on the forum for this. The file format has changed over the years. The log file will probably tell you what is wrong with the file. The driver is getting better a...

Re: Custom game config with tutorial - I need some help

1. Is the HID device the only possible joystick output? I'd like to get xinput outputs - is it possible or I need to look for some third party tool? The only built in devices are the KMJ devices. We are thinking about adding others like XInput. The driver has an extension mechanism that we use, and...

Re: As a 2D Mouse too, on Windows 10?

Try changing the ID inside that file that you put into %ProgramData% from
<ID>ID_STR_DESKTOP</ID>
to
<ID>ID_Desktop_Cfg</ID>

(use notepad/notepad++)

Re: SpaceNavigator - Keyboard simulator

Your device is unlikely to produce a value as high as 508. Try a lower Deadband. That syntax is not correct. Macros on axes are not supported (ATM). Try: <Output> <ActionID>KB_Keystroke</ActionID> <Scale>1.00</Scale> <MaxEventRate>40</MaxEventRate> <KeyStroke> <Key>04</Key> </KeyStroke> </Output>
