3.8.1

Tony,

I've tested driver 3.8.1 and the button mapping is fixed. The categories/command structure in the hammer list matches the structure in the Toolbars Customize dialogue box in SW.

Very Nice

I loaded 3.8.1 last week. It looks very good to me. 1) The categories and functions in the hammer list match the categories in the SW Toolbar Customize dialogue box. If you can find it in SW you can find it in 3DxWare. 2) They added a category called Other. It contains an alphabetized list of everyt...

Ouch, well then you're in the same bind I'm in. And, unfortunately you'er not getting a straight answer from the moderator. He has yet to say why the +/- keys can't be reassigned. It looks to me like the old Prussian thing again. You can't reprogram them because we know that you don't need to. About...

Robert,

Could you give us a schedule for when this will be fixed, or at least tell us where to go to view the status of ID 4683?

Thanks

You've got to be kidding

Valen, I don't think you understand. This is product support based on the Prussian model: They will tell you what works best for you. I know they're located southwest of Munich, and the Engineering leadership hasn't always even been German. But, ever since the programming moved to Germany six years ...

It seems that enough people have complained 3DC Engineering actually looked at the commands in the Button Mapping dialogue box and determined that, gee, some of them are really missing. It only took about 6 months for Tech Support to get their attention. The problem after that was that everyone was ...

BBOwen: Sorry to hear that your using something other than SolidWorks and having problems. My guess is they will fix your add-ins in the next three months. So, I would keep downloading the new drivers. These things go in cycles. Once you have one that works, be sure to keep a copy of the executable....

BBOwen, can you tell me your primary app? I know that the SolidWorks Add-in got hosed, but I don't know about any other "supported" apps. Also, I still have hope. It's pretty hard to fix bad hardware. Fixing bad software just requires that it be a corporate priority. The drivers used to be...

I used a SpacePilot for more than a year, and even replaced my SpaceBall at home with a Pilot off eBay. The feel of the Pro stick is as good or better than the Pilot. Certainly it hasn't gone backward. If your only use is the stick then don't change. The new LCD screen is useful if your button mappi...
