Hi joggl, sorry I don't know how and what you're sending off to our device. Which ioctl() are you using? From the device node you posted I think you want to use the event interface. A good starting point will be this website . Example 4 shows you what event types are supported by the SpaceNavigator....

Hi jdetwile, nice to read, that you're happy with the SpaceNavigator and that it works so fine with GIMP! For getting 3D Mouse support in Cinelerra I suggest to contact the development team of this cool piece of software. Just give it a try! Would be great to read more on this! Regards, Christian 3D...

Hi, you can control the mouse cursor with our 3D mice, but you'll lack the mouse buttons. This seems to be a limitation of the evdev driver (regarding to its documentation), which just processes buttons that are declared as mouse buttons (via the device firmware). The buttons of our 3D mice aren't d...

Hilft evtl. t...

Hi marcus, I think I know whats "wrong"... The button mapping in "Any Application" doesn't contain a mapping that by default sends out a button number, we have mapped some macros to the buttons (as an example for a more complex user defined mapping). If you go to the drive...

Hi djs_core, so the driver starts with the maximized window and its not possible to minimize/iconify it. This is truly not a nice behaviour of the driver and shouldn't be the case. We have experienced kind of a similar thing on RedHat 5, where the driver starts maximized, too. But here its possible ...

Hi djs_core, I'm not sure what you mean with "without a GUI"? Without X11: Not possible, the driver needs to have X11 as the transport protocol bases on XClientMessages. Without GUI: Well, the driver should start in an iconified state, so there should be just a little button-a-like icon in...

Hi Mattias, that is really odd, indeed! You're right, the only package in question that could've fixed your problem is "xserver-xorg-input-joystick (1:1.3.1-1)". Just a wild guess: It could've been the installation script of this package, that modified your xorg.conf sp that the XServer no...

Hi Matte99, sorry for my late reply to your last post! Your issue is quite strange! :? Currently I've only one idea, that might probably help or at least show a different behaviour of the driver: Please create a new user, with no special settings regarding permissions or access restrictions, etc. an...

Hi marcus, if the demo xapp doesn't work, then something might be really screwed up - it has to work! At least this example! Ok, lets try something: 1. Start the driver(if its not running), open the GUI and set the configuration ("3DxWare for") to "Driver Protocol 1.0". 2. Leave ...

Hi ellson, please uninstall lesstif and install recent OpenMotif packages. This should fix your problems. I've seen that (some versions of) lesstif has a/some bug/s that result in a buggy GUI. Regarding Motif: It is not really proprietary. Well, the original Motif kind of is/was, but the open source...
