it might be because you have a much older version of our driver. I would recommend uninstalling 10.6.3 and installing 10.8.6 from our drivers page here: https://3dconnexion.com/us/drivers/

You are using the prepacked cable that came with the SpaceMouse correct?
Is the Blue LED under the knob lighting up?
Is the Green LED turning on and Flashing?
Did you try a different USB port on your machine?
Is the cable plugged in all the way in both ports?

Hello, Which driver version are you using? its possible you might just need to install a new driver to get it to work. You can try a lightly damped cloth and see if it helps, but it looks like the coating on the knob is coming off.

How is the device plugged in? Sometimes if its in a USB Hub that does not have its own power source then this could happen. Do you know which driver version you have also? Have you tried different USB ports on your machine?
