The application you mentioned doesn't have support for 3D mice. Please ask the editor of the application (Tekla Structures) to integrate support for 3D mice. 3Dconnexion has an SDK available for free for developers.

I would recommend you to consult the list of supported applications.

Please test the device on another system as suggested by ngomes to make sure that the device and not the computer was the cause of this error message.
