USB-to-Serial (9-pin)

Post by wrighttrack »

I am working feverishly to find an adapter that will turn a standard USB port into a serial port so I can use a spaceball 5000 (serial) with a computer that has no serial port. I've tried several that I purchased on eBay, and only one of them worked so far, and only with a newer computer with USB 2.0, rather than my old home computer with USB 1.1. Can anyone help me out here?
Always interested in the latest, greatest technology and tools to make my job easier, better, faster, etc.

Hello,

I would suggest going to a store and purchasing a PCI 4 Serial Card.
Most pc have an available card slot unless you've already used them up.

Hi wrighttrack,

A word of caution: 3Dconnexion no longer provides active support for serial devices on Windows. All newly released software will only work with USB devices.
