X11 support

I was wondering if the X11 system on Mac is supported by the SpaceNavigator (or other 3Dconnexion devices). Many scientific programs that are compiled for both Linux and Mac use X11 (e.g. molecular visualization and building tools like Coot or PyMOL) and if there was a generic interface that mediated the SpaceNavigator commands to X11 apps, these programs could really benefit from it. This would be of great help in implementing support for 3dconnexion's devices in these programs.

I found this old thread (viewtopic.php?t=482&highlight=x11) about some kind of an X11 proxy, but as I'm no programmer, I can't really make much out of it.

I hope supporting X11 apps on Mac is possible and is on the todo list if not already possible. Thanks for any feedback!

This is the wrong approach. X11 is garbage; get the apps ported to Cocoa.
