Vectorworks and macOS 10.8 Driver ?

Post by zoomer »

What happened with 10.8 Mac Driver Update and Vectorworks Preferences ?
Again an incompatible XML update for Settings ?

Original Space Navigator in that case.

Vectorworks, somehow, always needed to lower the 3DConnexion driver overall
speed for VW to be set to about only 20% or even lower.

But when I restarted after 10.8 update and tried my Space Navigator in VW,
it shoot my geometry out of my View Window.
I checked the driver settings and it was still at overall 20% only for VW.
So I manually set also ANY axes from middle to 20%.
And it looked to work as expected again.

But today after wake up from sleep and testing it was again much to sensitive.
Checked the driver and overall+ axes settings were as I left.
So I had to lower the overall speed to about 5%,
which gave back the desired behavior !?

And when trying to use SN's buttons, I see that do no more work as expected.
VW's "Application Commands" seem to be gone again.
It still showed Fit View in the driver but did something else (Dimensions !?)

I could circumference by changing back to a "keystroke" = CMD+6.

But I am again a bit frightened from overall 3D Connexion and ist behavior ....

BTW,
why is there still no comfortable way to exclude any of these shiny market leader
proprietary App's default settings offered with the Driver.
Why make it so hard to find my 10 App's Settings that I use, between 50+ Apps
(Sponsors) that I'll never want to use ?

So I tried to use "Remove" option at the end of the Drop Down.
But Remove is only available for my own Apps I want to use - while Remove being
deactivated for any disliked App Setting Option I would like to get rid off !?

It is not just in Vectorworks,
after wake up, Space Navigator's navigation speed goes crazy in Blender too.

Probably this happens for any App.
10.8 Driver seems to ignore any App Setting's speed settings after a few Mac
sleep cycles.
