I got the SN SE to work with Maya 2009, then it stopped!

Post by BlackOpsBen »

I got the Space Navigator SE and managed to get it to work with Maya 2009 on my Mac with absolutely no problems! I am in love with the way the device works in Maya! But for some reason out of nowhere after a week or so of using it, it just stopped working. Google Earth still works with it, the built-in test programs work, the Maya script editor even shows that it automatically loaded the scripts as it is supposed to, but the device does nothing! I have tried reseting Maya's settings by backing-up/removing my prefs folder, removing and then replacing the scripts, etc... Nothing helps. I haven't tried uninstalling Maya. That's the last thing I wanna dare try. Any suggestions? Anybody have the same problem? Thanks ahead of time for your help!

i had some troubble untill i moved my usersetup.mel from /Users/Shared/Autodesk/maya/scripts to /Users/Shared/Autodesk/maya/2009/scripts

and i was happy i was spinning the viewport. next time i restarted, No Luck.

this image shows what i believe i have rite.
clockwise from top left....
the plugin is loaded into maya.
the MasellanStartup mel script runs without error
the interface of the control panel works
the driver information
one of the demos with the box pushed into a position that could only work if the device was working for that demo.
the location of all my scripts and the plugins
and in the background you can barely make out maya

When i move the puck nothing happens in maya and it was working last night!

Is there anything else i could explaine?

Although i would prefer to be using this with Houdini
