Maya 2019, SpaceMouse Enterprise doesn’t work

Post by davezoo » Wed Jan 23, 2019 7:22 am

SpaceMouse Enterprise does not work with freshly installed Maya 2019 and 3DxWare.

OS: macOS Mojave 10.14.3 (18D42)
Drive: 3DxMacCore 1.1.0 + 3DxWare 10.6.1

When I open Maya, I get these error messages:

Code: Select all

// Error: file: /Users/Shared/Autodesk/maya/scripts/MagellanStartup.mel line 2487: Unable to dynamically load : /Users/Shared/Autodesk/maya/plug-ins/3DxMaya.bundle does not match the current architecture //
// Error: file: /Users/Shared/Autodesk/maya/scripts/MagellanStartup.mel line 2487: does not match the current architecture (3DxMaya) //
This is the content of the /Users/Shared/Autodesk/maya folder.

Hello davezoo,

unfortunately the latest macOS driver doesn't yet include support for Maya 2019. We are working on it and it will be available in the next driver release.

Is there an approximate release date for the next driver?
I am asking because I have another problem with Maya but I don't know if it is related to the drive or Maya itself.
I didn't post is because I didn't want to spam the forum. :D Plus I have to install the previous version of Maya to that.
It is related to the marking menu but it is hard to explain, I would show it instead via screen capture.
Months ago I made a bug report on the Autodesk website about this. Maybe they fixed it in the 2019 release (i don't hold my breath) if it was a Maya bug.

Hello davezoo,

unfortunately we do not get release dates from our development team. In the testing phase issues might be detected that can delay a release.

Thanks for answer Utash.
Not working here too, using Maya 2019 in El Capitan.
Waiting for update.
Thank you!

I see that Windows just received an update. Will macOS be next? Would really like to use my hardware...

They might as well start working on the 2022 update for Mac

Is there any news on when the new Mac drivers will be released? 10.6.1 doesn't support Maya 2019, it would be nice to actually have my device work again :/

I would also like to know if there is any plans to release an update for Mojave before the new macOS 10.15.

Anyone know if I can download 10.6.3 somewhere?
I just installed 10.6.4 on Catalina and now my viewport in Maya 2019.1 glitch. When moving the camera with the SpaceMouse the view jumps to random positions for a fraction of a second before jumping back to where it is supposed to be. This happens very frequently as evident in the video. And after a minute or two Maya just crashes.

Never mind, found 10.6.3 here: https://www.schneider-digital.com/suppo ... S/?C=S;O=A
Installing that again fixed the issues :)

Hi RVeldhuyzen,

We were able to reproduce the issue with driver 10.6.4 with Maya 2019. We created an internal bug for this issue "MAC-183", as of now we don't have an ETA to when the fix will be available but hopefully soon.
If there's another issues or bugs then please don't hesitate to let us know.

Regards,
Abdul. A
