Space Navigator runs away in SketchUp

Post by slbaumgartner »

I am having repeated issues with my wired USB Space Navigator in SketchUp 2020 in my 16" MacBook Pro. When I start SketchUp the SN works fine. But after a while (unpredictable amount of time) the model will refuse to stop orbiting or zooming when I let go of the SN. It just keeps rotating and/or moving endlessly. The only way I can stop it is to force quit SketchUp. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers (version 10.6.5) and that makes no difference.

This suggests to me that either the SN itself is defective or there is a serious bug in the drivers for SketchUp. Has anyone else experienced anything similar

Hi slbaumgartner,

have you tried if calibrating the device would stop the unwanted movement? See System Prefs -> 3Dconnexion -> Tools -> Calibrate.
