CadMouse Wireless (not Pro) Firmware Upgrade

Hey guys,

Getting the following error when trying to upgrade the firmware on my mouse. I have given Terminal all the permissions necessary to run. Any ideas?

Hello,

is the device plugged directly into you Mac via USB cable?
If you are using an adapter, is it an Apple branded adapter?
Also, this is the CadMouse Wireless, no the CadMouse Compact Wireless correct?

This looks like a permission problem. Check the documentation included in the .dmg file. You will need to set the permissions for Terminal.

Also, there's a newer version of the firmware update tool (refer to this FAQ article) but the limitation with Terminal permission still applies as macOS does not allow access to a mouse from a Terminal program unless the user takes action.

Q: So when I try this on the mac it doesn't seem to detect it to support the upgrade. I found references to a windows version of the firmware (3DxFlash?) v 2.13.0 (I was able to find a reference to download that), but it doesn't seem to work on Windows 11 Pro (the windows firmware updater.) I see a reference to a windows install 2.14.0, but couldn't find a reference to download it. Seems a bit odd the lack of support documentation here.

Any other suggestions on how to get this updated so we can use the mouse again on newer MacOS versions?

You will need to go through the documentation: you need to set the permissions for Terminal to all the program to access a privilege device like a mouse.

I updated successfully to the latest firmware but the mouse clicks aren't working yet. :| Mac Mini 2018 Intel, MacOS Ventura. Any ideas? Thanks.
