Well, since everything above 10.7.0 does not seem that exciting,

So I hope for a new driver version soon anyway.
Could just eliminate the smaller Ventura installation issues at the same time.

I generally don't mind being a bit on the bleeding edge.. i'm used to beta testing quite a bit. Sometimes some stuff just needs tweaks.. its all part of the process

Hi cjadams,

unfortunately I cannot provide a solution for you as we've not experienced this situation in out lab.
So I can only ask you to check some more things, please.

Again open the Terminal and execute the following command

Code: Select all

ps aux | grep 3dconnexion
You should see an output similar to this:

Code: Select all

_driverkit 310 0.0 0.0 408508352 2208 ?? Ss 10:04AM 0:00.02 /Library/SystemExtensions/0E4F707F-D599-4AC7-A221-F28FF242E918/com.3dconnexion.dext.dext/com.3dconnexion.dext com.3dconnexion.dext 0x100000869 com.3dconnexion.dext
chris 784 0.0 0.0 408635376 1536 s000 S+ 10:09AM 0:00.00 grep 3dconnexion
If this process of the user "_driverkit" should not be present, can you please check for crashlog(s) related to 3Dconnexion ("3Dconnexion..." or "3Dx...") in the Console.app (left side of the console's window "Crash Reports"). If there are any, you'll see them in the center part of the window. You can right-click and "Reveal in Finder" on the entries and send them to me, please in a private message.

If the process happens to be running, thing become odd.
Can you the please run the following commands in the Terminal:
1.

Code: Select all

killall 3DconnexionHelper
2.

Code: Select all

/Applications/3Dconnexion/3DconnexionHelper.app/Contents/MacOS/3DconnexionHelper
3DconnexionHelper will initially print some information on the connection to the DEXT. Especially the lines with "-[TDxDEXTManager" will be interesting.
Please send this output of the helper.

If all these steps do not reveal an obvious hint on whats going on, could you maybe temporarily uninstall BitDefender and also 3DxWareMac and reinstall just 3DxWareMac. Just to check if maybe BitDefender makes a difference here.

Looking forward to your findings!

Regards,

Christian

Did you confirm if the dext process was running (listed as running under the user account "_driverkit" in the ps command output)?

What exactly do you see after running the following command:

Code: Select all

ps aux | grep 3dconnexion
Also, are you using some sort of device management software (MDM) like Jamf Pro?

Is that what you get after a reboot? It looks like you killed the "3DconnexionHelper" process or it died unexpectedly.

Looks like 3DconnexionHelper is failing to launch automatically. Please check if you find the following file on your system:

/Library/LaunchAgents/com.3dconnexion.helper.plist

If you start 3DconnexionHelper manually (as detailed by @crobl above), does the system display the "Allow" button in the "Security & Privacy" pane?
