SpaveNavigator in Google Earth using Controllermate

Post by adinb »

Here's a cmate file for google earth.

If you're impatient for 3dconnexion to release a google earth profile, just spring the $15 for controllermate and import this file.

Note: Ry isn't mapped to anything, rotating the globe is mapped to Rz.

If I got anything wrong, let me know, I'll fixit.

No worries!

One thing to note is that you need to click inside the Google Earth view window -- if something else has "focus" the controller messages will go there instead. But that seems to be the only real limitation, it certainly makes things easier while waiting for the OS X drivers from 3Dconnexion to catch up!

Help?

Hi, since the GE drivers are not available your solution may still be a good escape. However, I dont understand your instructions? Can you explain how to get the SN to work using CMate?

Thanx in advance!

It seems the account that held the profile file has been suspended. I put a profile I made myself in another topic here: viewtopic.php?t=848

Erp, guess I should update my billing addy with my ISP when I move.

In the meantime, shoot me a pm/email if you need the profile.

Should Controllermate be uninstalled before the new GE friendly drivers from 3Dconnexion are installed for the Space Navigator?

I haven't tried it, but there shouldn't be any problems. You shouldn't need to uninstall ControllerMate. You might just wanna disable the Controllermate configs since they are not needed anymore.
