SpaceNavigator for NOtebooks doesn't work

Post by rhayesmd »

Hi, I just bought the Spacenavigator for notebooks. I'm operating it on a new MacBook Pro. I plugged in the mouse, downloaded the driver, and it doesn't work at all. The only function is when I click the right mouse button, it brings up the calibration tool. Otherwise, it is just a paperweight. Any ideas?

You can check whether your device is working in the 3D Demo. Open the 3Dconnexion Preferences panel , click on the drop-down list at the top and choose "Demo ..." [not 3DxDemo]. The demos '3D Demo' and '3Dx Axis' will verify whether your device is working outside of your applications.
If the device is working in the Demos.
What application is it not working in?
Is the application listed as supported on our website?
The Spacenavigator is used in CAD programs, using 1.7.2 driver.
It does not replace a mouse.

If you want more usablility in unsupported apps you can try using the Beta Driver go to our website choose:
Supported Software<3Dxlabs
Support for the Beta will be limited to the 3DxWare Beta Forum.

I was having issues like you rhayesmd with my mac pro, it seems to work but on the odd day it doesn't, then the next day it works again!? I'll check out the 3D Demo next time to see if that identifies anything

OK!

so I have:

reinstalled in all avaiable legacy releases and still cant align my creo 3

i can see that the software is tailored for creo 6

can we please get an old software?

i may have to shop around for a new 3d mouse tbh i have invested alot of time into software bugs over the years

Hi matthewnayna,

for the SpaceNavigator for Notebooks I recommend 3DxWare 10.6.4 which you can download from our driver archive. The version still supports Creo 3. In case you have problems please let us know what exactly the problem is.
