Spacemouse Wireless LED

Post by Poprah80 »

Just setup my spacemouse wireless and really enjoying its utility. For some reason I was under the impression that the blue led (& maybe the green light under the logo) can be toggled on / off using the "LEDs Active" setting. This does NOT work for me while the device is communicating via the wireless dongle, it does however toggle using a wired connection.

Is this how it's meant to function? ... I'm hoping the answer is no.

Here's what I've tried so far:
* Re-installing drivers after clean uninstall (Admin account, UAC off, reboot, then followed this guide - http://www.3dconnexion.com/index.php?id ... red=faq/28 ).
* Using different USB ports (clean re-installing every time).
* Turning the led ON while using usb cable and then disconnecting cable.

I want those pretty lights to work!! I'm really hoping I'm just being daft and missing something super obvious.

If anyone has any advice I would really appreciate the help. Thank you!

Hey guys / gals,

Going to simplify my question to: Does the LED toggle on/off for you while using USB dongle ?

Thanks again.

Hi Poprah80,

the blue LEDs are not constantly on when you use the device wireless to save energy (battery). They light up if you switch the device on and it connects to the receiver.

Thank you for your response UtaSH.

I wish they change it in the near future so the user can decide regardless of being wired. I'm not sure why all of the images on the product page show this light on, including the animation of untethering the USB cable, when in fact it doesn't work that way. Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with the functionality of the product but definitely feel a little cheated in the awesome LED department. Hopefully I'm not alone in my rant and we can get someone to change it.

I was hoping to have a checkmark option to decide if we want the light on or off regardless of usb connection. I would also like it on at all times.
