Can't open Button Mapping Editor

Post by falcon-engineers »

I want to change some buttons on the Spacepilot at the computer of a colleague of mine. On my own computer I use the Button Mapping Editor for this. In the right corner of my screen I have a button to start this action, this button is also displayed on my colleagues screen, but I can't activate this.
I can open the 3D conexxion control panel, but I can't change the buttons the way I want.

Is there a different way to open the Button Mapping Editor or maybe even a way that I can export/import my own configuration in to his?

Thanks in advance.

A reinstall of the driver should fix the button mappings issue.
More details of the OS etc would be needed to properly diagnose the issue.

This is the default for most saved profiles.
3Dconnexion User Profile Path

Make sure you have run the driver installation on the second machine.

This is the path the profiles are saved to:
C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Application Data\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\profiles

The files have an extension of .scg

(If you cannot locate the Application data, you will have to enable show hidden files\folders.)

Save a copy of the profiles and
copy them into the same path
on the second machine.

Solidworks doesnt use the above path you would have to use the Import/ export then save the file and copy and import into the additional machine.

Hi,

Sorry for the somewhat late reply.

Reinstalling did not fix the problem. We downloaded the latest driver and we still can't op the Button Mapping Editor.
Also copying the profiles on the location did not do anything :?

The computer has Windows XP 64bit.

Copying the profiles to another computer did work.

Any more suggestions?

Thanks

Try installing under administrator.
The control panel should open without any problems unless something else on the pc is causing the application to be not accessible.
