Thank you very much. I had a newer space mouse at my last employer but found the smaller knob wasn't as ergonomic for me.
I would order a supported piece of hardware in a heartbeat if it had the same ergonomics at the SpaceMouse Plus.

Does anyone have a way to get the Spaceball 5000 serial working with Windows 7? Sadly, mine was working and I accidentally re-installed a newer version of 3DxSoftware, and I cannot get back to where I was. I have tried all day. Ughhhh!

Hello r_high,

the SpaceMouse Pro is still a supported device. You should not use old drivers. The latest one (currently 3DxWare 10.3.0) supports the SpaceMouse Pro.
For the CadMouse you need 3DxWare 10.2.2 or higher.

Nothing. Sorry. The driver for the SpaceMouse Plus does not know the CadMouse and the driver for the CadMouse doesn't know the SpaceMouse Plus. :(

Hi,

Responding to a very old thread.. but it might help some people.
I managed to get my spaceball 4000 FLX working on my 64bit windows 7 machine using the instructions as posted by Witch Doctor.

Like other people, I had no trouble finding the 2.8.2 driver but could not find 3dxsoftware 3.10.1.
By googling I found a german website which had 3dxsoftware 3.10.1 still available.

If you look for 'support harlander treiber' you will find the right website.

under "Artikel suchen" type "space explorer". This will guide you to a download for the 3.10.1 (file name "space_explorer_usb_64bit_xp_vista_win7")
(there is also a 32bit, but I have only tried the 64 bit version)

To connect the spaceball to my laptop I am using a USB to Serial connector. I tried the spaceball with AutoCad 2014 and it seems to be working fine.
Hope this will be of any help

regards,
Bas

Hi, new in this forum, but glad for your useful work here.
There days I was consiering sereveral options found here, to make my FLX 4000 working under my WIN 7 - 64 bit and SW 2012.
No serial port, so a USB to SERIAL used for.
Just like eye51.
I folowed your guide, but no results.
I mean, SW 2012 has the Spaceball meni no active, because WIN7 do not find correc drivers (it says) for 4000.
I see "Spaceball 4000 FLX" names among devices, but with yellow sign... :(

As eye51 suggested, 2.8.2 driver/no SW add-in (from CADMAN for 64 bit) reboot, then german space_explorer_usb_64bit_xp_vista_win7.

Problem about my particular SERIAL to USB device ? :?:

eye51, any suggestions ? Thank you so much.

Hello!
Thanks to your workarounds, I have got my new (;-) Space Traveler working at Win7-64 on vmware on SLED together with Creo 3

Runs fine, but I didn't find a method to adjust the velocity?

Is there a chance to set it easily?
Is there a chance to set the keys of the space traveler?

Greetings,
Holger

Hi kaengo,

long time passed since my last post 2017.
No news from me, no any new tests, sorry.
I'm planning to buy a win7 x 64 working certified mouse, as spacemouse.

If any news, I'll write here.

Thank you
