Sounds like it - at the end of navigation when you let go of the cap?
Yes this is it!

Same for me, the last driver is broken in 3dsmax 2020.

First thing I noticed is that I had to reverse everything, then I noticed that axis changes arent adding up, they go 1 axis at a time.

rolling back...

Yes all axis are reversed for me too, having to "invert" each one and then it resets with each new instance of max. I'm now back to an older driver and it's working fine.

Are the axes all reversed, or is the navigation mode in 3Dconnexion Properties set to 'Object Mode'?

I think it was mostly object mode but then having changed it it sometimes inverted and i had to check the inverse checkboxes- though admiteddly that could be it reverting back to object mode!

My 10.6.3 driver is also not working very well. Randomly locks out certain axis on the mouse for no apparent reason. I tried 10.6.0 but it continuously crashes. Are there plans to fix these issues?

10.6.5 seems to have fixed all my issues.
