Spacemouse

Post by ChaChaMan »

Hello
I am wanting to use spacemouse with Inventor.
I already have custom keyboard shortcuts created in Inventor.

Example : 'O' key = orbit.

The spacemouse does not orbit.

Is there a conflict because of this ?

Hi ChaChaMan,

Thanks for your post. I've tested this issue on my end and was able to orbit by using a different path.
In order to orbit in Inventor, there're three ways to do it from my testing
- You can activate the orbit from the navigation section under View
- You can press and hold the Shift Key and the Middle Mouse Button together which will allow you to orbit
- The last one is by creating a Macro in our setting window which allow you to press any button to orbit the sketch/part etc.

To create a Macro,
- Open Inventor
- Open 3Dconnexion Home
- Click on Settings
- Make sure the device is selected
- Make sure the application name is listed on the top as Inventor
- Click on Buttons
- Beside each button, there's a right arrow ">". Click on it to display the folder. If you search in the search bar on top of the folder, you will see there's already an orbit function created for you. If you don't see it then click on Macros folder
- Under Macros folder, click on New Macro
- Create a name for your Macro and record the keystrokes as Press Shift, Press Middle Mouse Button, Release Middle Mouse Button, Release Shift then test it.

I've you have any other questions then please don't hesitate to reach back.

Regards,
Abdul. A
