3DCONNEXION SpacePilot PRO - Crash in SolidEdge 2020

Post by fkempf »

Hello,

we have encountered the following Problem: If we open a File with a lot ofLines, and use the 3DCONNEXION SpacePilot PRO, often the Program SolidEdge 2020 crashs without further information. If there are less Lines in the File, the Mouse works normally. Installed Driver is 3DxWare64_v10-6-9_r3230, we encountered this Problem on every PC with attached 3D-Mouse (all SpacePilot Pro).
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello fkempf,

do you know if there is a dmp file from Solid Edge created once it stops working? Are there any entries about the crash in the Windows system Event Log?

This appears to be a resource exhaustion issue (lack of memory, perhaps).

We attempted to reproduce the issue using SE 2020 v. 220.0.0.104 x64 (no MP installed) and a part document with over 8k lines on a Windows 10 version 2004 system (one of our development machines). The degradation in performance is clearly noticeable as view navigation becomes very slow but we could not reproduce any crash.

Can you provide additional details? And perhaps a sample document?
