SpaceExplorer not recognized (Windows 10)

Post by mitchellm »

My Space Explorer is no longer responding in Windows 10. Even the 3DConnexion settings dialogue is "greyed out" and nothing can be selected. It is as though the Sapce Explorer is not plugged in.
- Running Windows 10 Pro (OS Build 19041.662)
- Uninstalled and reinstalled 3Dxware 10.7.0 for Windows
- No blue led ring light (but it flashes on for less than a second when plugging in the device)
- Windows acknowldeges a USB device was plugged in and even says 'Space Exploer is ready to go' but the device is unresponsive
- The device works on other co-workers workstations fine, so I do not think it is a hardware issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Finally I found someone who's got the exact same problem. I hope the solution comes soon.

What I haven't tried is a cross check with my spaceexplorer on another computer where the spaceexplorer works fine and vice versa. Unfortunately I don't have the opportunity to do so, right now.

Read from this URL, the driver support for SpaceExplorer was ended on 31.03.2010, it's 10 years:

So run SpaceExplorer with Windows XP or Windows 7 OS.

I reinstalled the 10.4.3 driver (followed your link) and I now have a blue LED light and I am working in Solidworks again. Thank you very much!
