ZBrush 2021.5 and 3Dconnexion SpacePilot 01

Post by Glory to Glorzo »

~ Hello ~

- Just to Clarify -

When 'Pixologic' say 'SpaceMouse'
Does this statement include the other 3Dconnexion USB devices.
Such as the smaller, standard puck shaped 'SpaceMouse' - the Wireless or Compact versions?
Or is it just the 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse 'Enterprise' ?

I'm trying to save money ...
Apologies, but I'm still not 100% clear/sure of this ?
Avoiding any extra expenditures.

I'm already an owner of the SpacePilot 01 _
Which sadly has become outdated or been forced into retirement/discontinued.
This is a real shame_ mine was working great until I updated it with the latest driver ...

I was really hoping zbrush would function with my older SpacePilot 01.
It's still in great condition, or was.
And like i said, it was working until i updated it.
Grrrr - Any help/advice or insight would be very helpful.

Hope there's a new drier for the SpacePilot soon - That would be fantastic!

Thank You.
Many Kind Regards.

The ZBrush solution requires a relatively recent driver.
Only the 10.7.1 driver package (released shortly) has the correct ZBrush cfg file. We highly recommend that you use that.
The SpaceNavigator (SpaceMouse Compact) is supported in that release.

The entry-level SpaceMouse Wireless or SpaceMouse Compact should suffice, while the SpaceMouse Pro's extra buttons lead to better ergonomics.

Just purchased a SpaceMouse for my ZBrush. When will the new driver be available on the driver download page? Right now only the 10.7.0 is available for Windows. :|

v10.7.0 with the SpacePilot (USB) worked for me. Had to uninstall previous driver version before installing it. Didn't have to do anything else.

If you run ZBrush with a driver (< 10.7.1) and save any user settings, you will need to delete your user file (probably %appdata%/3dconnexion/3dxware/cfg/ZBrush.xml) after installing 10.7.1.

Your saved settings will prevent the default ZBrush cfg from being used.

Version 10.7.1 of 3DxWare 10 for Windows was published earlier today (Dec 15). The software is available for download from here.

The latest v10.7.1 driver doesn't support NX v1888, v1892 that belong to series 1872 for SpaceMouse Enterprise Intelligent Function Keys(number 3-12), it only support major continuous releases series like 1847, 1872, 1899, 1926, 1953.
V1953 is the initial release of series 1953, and the following two maintenance releases that belong to series 1953 may not be supported by 3DxWare future release.

You may be looking at some other problem.

3Dconnexion wouldn't do that sort of thing to our customers and even suggesting it is over the top, luping.

I recommend that you get in touch with our Technical Support team. They're great and will be able to confirm what is going on. If we need to fix something, we will.

Actually I did raised the issue in another thread with several screenshots for easy understanding:
NX V1880 - SpaceMouse Pro latest driver
https://forum.3dconnexion.com/viewtopic ... 803#p77572
https://forum.3dconnexion.com/viewtopic ... 803#p77619

It's only an issue I tested for one of my friends on his PC, so technically it's not my problem. I feel relatively good when working with SpaceMouse Enterprise.

In that case, you probably missed the response from Zach where we confirm that they are no gaps in NX support.

Just imagine if that was the case: customers would install a new version and all was well. Then they would apply a bugfix to NX and everything would break by design. That's not how we do things around here, luping.

I do understand your situation. Not a significant issue as long as the 6DOF 3D navigation, QuickView keys work.

To be clear: it's always an issue if the software does not work as expected. 3Dconnexion does not aim to simply resolve issue with 3D motion. We aim to resolve all issues affecting the product in its entirety.

I'll try to record a video to showcase the problem and send you a download WeTransfer link(File Transfer Service).
