Fusion 360 speed too fast

Post by kg2vny »

Hi,
New here, so probably covered a million times, but I could not find it in search
I'm working in F360, and even with all my speeds turned all the way down in the properties app, I find the mouse to be WAY too fast

I see there is an xml file for fusion360 (BTW, is there a doc for the xml file) - (I wanted to add deadband and did) - it has
<Settings>
<OverallScale>0.02</OverallScale>
<Deadband>100</Deadband>
</Settings>

and a typical axis is similar to

<Input>
<ActionID>HIDMultiAxis_Rx</ActionID>
<Min>-512</Min>
<Max>511</Max>
</Input>
<Output>
<ActionID>HIDMultiAxis_Rx</ActionID>
<Scale>0.002</Scale>
<Reversed>false</Reversed>
</Output>

Thanks
Charlie

Hi Charlie,

this is not a common issue with Fusion as far as I know. Is the speed with one of our demos ok for you? You can open the 3Dconnexion Viewer from 3Dconnexion Home for example.

OK, some more data for you.
I brought the Spacemouse to work, and it is MORE than slow enough. The mouse set in the middle is significantly slower (like maybe 1/10th the speed) when set to the middle than it is at home set to the slowest

Any ideas?

Hi Charlie,

The problem seems to be on your home machine.

There are a couple of things to check.
1) If the driver is installed fully
2) If any of your XML file changes are causing problems

For #1, open the Device Manager->Human Interface Devices. Is your SpaceMouse correctly named in there? It should be something like "3Dconnexion SpaceMouse" depending on what device you have.

For #2, what files did you change, specifically?
Beyond that, I'd like to get a snapshot of your 3DxWare software state.
While the driver is running, right click on the 3Dx systray icon->Write Log File.
Then stop and start the driver (Start Menu ->3Dconnexion ->Stop , Start).
Now we have a clean log file.
Shift+Right click on the 3Dx systray icon->Run Diagnostics. This will start a program that will collect information about your 3DxWare installation. It will also grab your user cfg file changes. Not the Program File changes if you (inadvisably) made changes there.
This will open a program. It takes a little while to run. When it is done, it will open the directory of the output zip file it writes.
Please PM me a link (dropbox or whatever) to that file.

I don't know what "too fast" means.
It could also be an interaction with another device driver you have installed.

Thanks.
