Advice for cleaning / fixing the Increase Speed button on SpacePilot Pro?

Post by david_j_calabrese » Sat Mar 06, 2021 7:45 pm

I'll start by saying that yes I've heard that this device has been officially discontinued, and that some folks would suggest I purchase a SpaceMouse Enterprise as the recommended fix.

That being said, in the "can't hurt to ask department", pressing Increase Speed often registers as Decrease Speed instead, or an Increase Speed press followed immediately by a Decrease Speed press. This has been verified both by watching the LCD display and viewing the Speed slider in the driver.

Having seen a partial SpaceMouse Pro tear down, I'm okay with opening the device, although if the switches used are the "sealed" kind with no chance of maintenance or equivalent, I'd rather not go to the effort. :)

Thanks in advance for any advice, soldering iron in hand.
