SpaceMouse Wireless for W10 Desktop

I'm testing this product on a W10 PC for ship navigation. I installed the SpaceMouse Wireless as well as the Xencelabs Quick Keys Remote for comparison.
The goal is to use such a device as the single input hardware for day-by-day operation (Zoom in & out, left and right, choosing options by click, go-to...).

There are no settings for choosing actions for the directions of the 3D-navigation wheel at the desktop or any application. Editing XML-files is kind of pre-millenium software.

Did I miss to install any software to use this product for basic 2D-desktop W10-operations? Really, no mouse left-right-up-down?
No klick to choose an operation within an application when pushing the wheel?

Yes, I searched the forum. Al I found is XML-editing...
