Unhandled Exception

Post by Farqhuit »

I have installed a Spacemouse Compact (wired via a USB hub). It is working OK, but I get Unhandled Exception messages (see attached). The top one pops up at startup, and the lower one when I hit the right button on the Spacemouse. I am unable to access settings in the 3Dconnexion Home - I get an icon of a desktop mouse available but nothing else. When I try to access trainer a window pops up for a few seconds then vanishes.

I have run diagnostics but the zip file is too large to attach. When I try to attach the extracted files a 'wrong extension' warning flashes up.

I had an older Spacemouse that I use at home installed, but I updated the software when I installed the new Spacemouse.

I am running Windows 10.

Any ideas please?

Dave

What's your Windows 10 version, 21H1? Press Windows logo button+R button on your keyboard, input 'winver' to view the Windows 10 version.
Usually an upgrade to the latest Windows 10 version may help to solve the issue.

Hi luping,

My version is 21H1 (OS build 19043. 1826) A quick search tells me that 21H1 (19044.1949) is the latest. I'll try to get it updated.

Anything else to think about? I wondered if admin restrictions on my machine were preventing the software from accessing the settings files.

Thanks, Dave

It has something to to with the .NET framework runtime 4.8 and/or .NET runtime 6. It seems like you're running in a non-Administrator account. Have you properly enabled the .NET framework feature in the 'Turn Windows features on or off'(press Windows logo button on your keyboard and input 'Windows features' in Start menu to access the control panel item if there's one)?
