Unity3d "Reload script assemblies" slowdown when switching to Play mode

Post by maprohu »

Hello,

I am using SpaceMouse Wireless with Unity3D on Windows.

Followed the instructions here:
https://3dconnexion.com/uk/support/faq/ ... t-loading/

The SpaceMouse works perfectly for navigating the scene in Edit mode.

What I am experiencing is that after I add the 3DxUnity3D package to my Unity project, the time that it takes to switch to "Play" mode increases by about 10 seconds. (During this time a dialog box shows the message "Reload Script Assemblies".) That is a significant difference, given that without the package launching the project is almost instantaneous. That is a rather high price to pay in a frequent dev-test loop. Especially because there is no use for the SpaceMouse during Play mode, therefore slowing down the build and launch process seems unjustified.

I wonder if there is any way to work around this issue.

My setup:

Windows 11
Unity 2021.3.14f1
3DxWare 10.8.10.3503
3DxWinCore 17.8.10.19684

Note: I also tried with Unity 2022.2.0b16, similar results, with the message in the dialog being "Reloading Domain".

Thank you for your support.

Regards,
Marton
