Blender ndof tdxinput.dll crash

Post by atuor »

Just tried blender with my SpaceNavigator PE, when launched it,

Console says :
Compiled with Python version 2.5.
Checking for installed Python... got it!
ndof manager
1 client
3Dconnexion main COM instance: 0D5D3CD0
3Dconnexion COM device interface: 0D5D3CD0

and then it crashed,

AppName: blender.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: tdxinput.dll
ModVer: 1.0.4.1 Offset: 000286f8

did anyone have the same experience ?

By the way, the plug-in is also available in the newly released 2.45 in dir C:\blender-2.45-windows\plugins\3DxBlender-Windows; is there a special way to lauch that normal release with the ndof support ?

Strange thing happened, in fact it crashes only when launching it by double-clicking; it doesn't if I launch it from command line; I see the 3dconnection splash, but not working for me, console says :

C:\Blender244ndof>blender
Compiled with Python version 2.5.
Warning: could not determine argv[0] path
Checking for installed Python... got it!
ndof manager

Anything wrong with the path ? What should I do ?

Hi, I strongly recommend you read this entire thread:

viewtopic.php?t=1338

It's rather long but I think it's described the same issue you are experiencing, so it is worth reading.

Thanks. installing vcredist-exe and reinstalling the driver worked for me ;-)
