This is a fairly simple feature request that I think would be incredibly useful. The idea is that pressing any given button twice could activate a secondary function.
For instance, pressing 'Top' would give you the top view, but double-pressing 'Top' would instead give you a bottom view. Pressing the orientation lock button would lock out rotation and leave only pan and zoom, but double-pressing it would do the opposite leave you with only rotation.
And this could be user-configurable, effectively giving an advanced user twice as many shortcut keys with absolutely no change to the hardware.
For usability's sake, it might be a good idea to give popup menus and apps a different color if it's assigned to double-press, to make it instantly obvious that the user activated a secondary menu. Say, gamboge instead of sky blue.
