I am trying to install 3DxWare 10.8.12 and I'm having a problem with the installer not finishing/closing.
I stopped the old driver and uninstalled the old version of 3DxWare.
The blue progress bar for the new 10.8.12 3DxWare is full indicating that installation should be complete. But the installer screen isn't closing. It's been open for over an hour. If I try to cancel the installation nothing happens, the installer doesn't close.
Any ideas how to get the installer to finish and close?
Thanks,
Eric

Re: 3DxWare installation not closing
Uninstall any currently installed 3DxWare driver, especially if it's an early major version, that will cause unknown compatibility issue.
If your computer's operating system was upgraded automatically before, e.g. upgraded from Windows 10 to 11, it's a necessity to completely uninstall the 3DxWare driver you installed previously. A clean environment is required to install v10.8.12.

Thank you for the comment.
I uninstalled the old 3DxWare through Windows Control Panel Uninstall. Is there something else I should do for a more thorough uninstall?
The only way I was able to close the installation process was to restart my PC. After restart, my SpaceMouse seems to be working correctly in Autodesk Inventor and ANSYS Mechanical. So even though the installer didn't close on its own I think it installed the software correctly.

Re: 3DxWare installation not closing
If you uninstalled a previous 3DxWare driver version, then reboot the PC and go to %appdata%(keyboard windows logo+R shortcut, input %appdata%) 3Dconnexion folder, pack the folder as ZIP archive as backup, then delete it.
Keep it as it is until the next driver update if you upgraded any of your installed CAD/CAE software. After restart, my SpaceMouse seems to be working correctly in Autodesk Inventor and ANSYS Mechanical. So even though the installer didn't close on its own I think it installed the software correctly.
