What Sensors are used in the Navigation Dial?

Post by DrG »

Hello everyone,

I have just come across this product and could not find an answer to my questions in the documentation.

My first question is what type of sensor is used in the navigation dial? And is it a hall effect sensor or a potentiometer? And does each version of the Spacemouse use the same type of sensor in the navigation dial?

I saw a teardown video of the Spacemouse Compact and it looks like it may be using hall effect sensors, but it was difficult to know with certainty.

My second question is what type of switches are used for the buttons on the Spacemouse Enterprise and Spacemouse Pro? Most keyboards use either membrane or mechanical switches, but the documentation does not specify this info.

Thank you.
