Space Explorer incompatible with VPN Layer 4 access?
Trying to operate 3dconnextion Space Explorer with Catia V5r18sp2 and it will not work while in a VPN session.
The Space Explorer is functional locally and works with a nodelocked session.
OS is Windows XP.
Have installed and reinstalled driver.
Anyone know of a Windows driver out there that might help? Or other solutions?

Hi Rebecca.Stewart,
Catia uses some TCP/IP ports to do the communication. You should check if your VPN does not block them. AFAIK for the 3D mouse its 55555, 55556, and 55557.

Bonjour! Thanks for the response.
I ensured these ports were all open. Then even closed them locally to force them to search them out at the server level.
We do only have the normal drivers installed. I was reading on another product that a 3DxWARE for Citrix.msi file was required?
Anything like this for the Space Explorer?

Hi Rebecca.Stewart,
are you using Citrix for your VPN? Then this post might help you.
If you have another VPN software let me know. There are a few posts out there in our forum where users have tried other possibilities. And HP's RGS is 3Dx certified (see here).

Hi Rebecca,
The FTP folder from this post should not be empty. There are two .msi files - one for 32bit and the other for 64bit.
I experienced problems when I used this link with Firefox - I could not login. But with the MSIE the link worked. Or just use any FTP tool (like 'Filezilla'). Please let me know if you are successful in obtaining the software.

This problem is NOT with Citrix ICA access, but a SSLVPN
Does anyone know of any special configuration needed to use a Space Explorer on a Client that has an SSL VPN tunnel (Citrix Netscaler Access Gateway connection). This has NOTHING to do with Citrix ICA access--this is a network level connection from the device in question to infrastructure on the home network via SSL using the Citrix Access Gateway plugin(NOT Citrix ICA). Catia is pulling a license over the SSL VPN tunnel from the LUM servers, but running in 'thick-client' mode on the device. The Space Explorer will not work unless the catia has a nodelock. Any ideas?

Re: Space Explorer incompatible with VPN Layer 4 access?
Hi Rebecca and Josh,
It sounds like the issue may relate to the VPN protocol being used and its compatibility with the Space Explorer and Catia. Layer 4 access with SSL VPN, as with Citrix Netscaler, might not fully support all device functionalities due to network-level restrictions. Certain devices or applications, like the Space Explorer, often need specific ports and direct TCP/IP connections, which can be limited by SSL VPNs and Citrix gateways.
For troubleshooting, consider checking the following:
Port Accessibility: Ensure all required ports for the Space Explorer are open and that no additional port restrictions are in place over the VPN.
Alternative VPN Protocols: If available, test other VPN protocols (like IKEv2 or OpenVPN) that might better support device-specific traffic.
3DxWare for Citrix: It may be worth trying the 3DxWare for Citrix MSI if applicable, though it’s usually more relevant for Citrix ICA rather than Netscaler SSL.
If the FTP issues persist, double-check credentials, or consider contacting support for an alternative download link. Let us know if this helps or if additional configuration tips are needed!
