Erratic scroll with cadmouse

Post by izen »

Hello!
Im trying to get used to CadMouse Pro wireless on linux and there is a strange behavior with scrolling: after several consecutive wheel moves it starts to continue scrolling despite the fact that I am not rotating the wheel at all. This seems to emulate a behaviour called kinetic scrolling in MacOS but implemented in the hardware/firmware itself. I experienced similar behavior with cadmouse on both windows and macos when I enabled smart scrolling feature in the provided 3dx software. Obviously, without feedback from the software, this behavior becomes unbearable, especially when it randomly sends scroll events all over the place. For example, switching windows/tabs or scrolling through a selection menu. CadMouse's scroll on win&mac over BT/wireless dongle/type c cable works fine. On linux it is a complete mess regardless of the type of connection.
So the question is, what could be the root cause of such erratic behavior? If it is related to the cadmouse firmware (I recently updated it to v1.21) features like "smart" scrolling enabled by default, then how do I disable it all together?

After back and forth between win & linux it somehow fixed itself. Seems that having at least a config util for this mouse is a necessity.

After switching back and forth between Linux and Windows, things resolved itself in some way. It appears that this mouse requires at least a configuration utility.
