3D Axes for system wide scroll/pan/zoom

Post by llealloo »

Hello, I have really been enjoying the SpaceMouse a lot in Blender, C4D, and Houdini!

One thing I keep finding myself reaching for is the ability to use the 3D mouse system wide for scrolling/panning in 2D pages throughout macOS.

I have become addicted to the way that Blender's 2D node panes (Geometry Nodes and Shader Editor) work so flawlessly with the SpaceMouse. It is so natural! I would love to see this kind of functionality go system wide in apps like Finder, web browsers, PDF viewers, file open dialogs, etc. Basically anywhere you can scroll up/down/left/right and occasionally zoom. I think my hand would be on the SpaceMouse 300% more if those things worked with it.

I hope this message finds the macOS dev team well. I've really been enjoying this product so much & would love to see the system-wide capabilities get a boost for mac users <3!

I almost made a new post asking for the same thing, but then I realized I had already asked about it 5 months ago

Over 22,000 views to this thread!

This would be an incredible feature to have in an upcoming update! I have been wanting nothing more than to be able to use the spacemouse for simple 2D scrolling system wide- especially in Finder, Preview, Quick Look etc

Please I beg of you! This would be sooooo nice! It's such a shame the SpaceMouse is unresponsive in macOS outside of 3D apps. It's such a wonderful product, and the smoothness of macOS would pair incredibly well with it! If only it worked! Ahhh!
