Scroll wheel requires restart

Post by MarkPennine »

Hi all,
Since I updated to Windows 11 Version 24H2, the scroll wheel doesn't work until I restart my laptop. I say doesn't work - it scrolls unworkably slowly, but is back to normal after a restart. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi Mark Pennine,

Try also unplug and replug the device if you are connected by the cable.

Yes, I have just started having this issue. Interestingly it only seems to affect Windows 11 file explorer and web browsers for me as in SketchUp the mouse wheel zoom works fine.

It seems to be every other time I boot up I get this issue, but thanks @skmiec unplugging the main cable works without restarting. For some reason as well sometimes my Space Mouse Enterprise doesn't turn on as well at startup. I suppose this could be something to do with the dual USB connector that came with the Space Mouse and CAD Mouse kit I purchased.

hi,

I'm also have this problem, after starting computer i need to disconnect and reconnect the mouse for the scroll to work correctly.

Pretty sure this started with a recent windows update, but hoping new drivers will be available soon to resolve the issue?

I have the exact same problem. I have to unplug and replug the USB cable every time I boot Windows, it gets annoying.

Do any of you have an antivirus program like Kaspersky running in the background? It installs a strange additional mouse driver, and I wonder if that has anything to do with the problem...
