3DxWare with multiple versions of Creo Parametric

Post by Cleaner »

What are the requirements to have the protk.dat registered correctly to more than one Creo Parametric installation on the same machine? I need to be able to move seamlessly between Creo 7 and Cre 9 for example and have all 3DxWare perform correctly with customizations (radial menus) when changing the focus from the graphics window of a Creo 7 and Creo 9 as required.

I have not found any documentation on how to handle this situation when installing or updating 3DxWare.

Which exact versions of Creo 7 and Creo 9 are installed?

Is there any issue with the latest 3DxWare driver version?

Creo versions: 7.0.12.0 & 9.0.8.0

I have the latest driver installed and it works correctly with both of these date codes when run exclusively. The issue is when switching between Creo versions.

I have completed some more testing. Steps as follows

Windows 11 Pro; space mouse wireless and CAD mouse wireless
I have again uninstalled 3DxWare and reinstalled it.
I open Creo 9 and test the function of radial menus (Creo specific) they work as they should.
I close Creo 9 and open Creo 7 and test the function of radial menus and they do not appear when invoked by mouse or space mouse buttons.
I power cycle the CAD mouse and space mouse and then retest the radial menus in Creo 7 and they now are invoked by the buttons on both devices as expected.

My expectation is that the driver and HW would support having both versions of Creo open and seamlessly switch between them without having to disconnect the HW and reconnect.
