Hi everyone,
A little spring mishap: I updated the 3Dconnexion driver on one of the office computers, and as usual, it completely reset the SpaceMouse Pro profile. The computer in question had been used by an intern a few months ago, so unsurprisingly, the default button mapping was a bit of a mess when it came to macros. So I went through the buttons one by one to reconfigure everything properly with my ArchiCAD shortcuts.
While testing, I stumbled upon a programmable button that opened an old web shortcut left in the default profile (an adult website categorized by topic). Given the overall state of the profile, this was only half surprising, but it took me about twenty minutes to clean everything up and reassign my usual macros (plan view, zoom, auto-pivot rotation). I also checked the other buttons at the top to make sure no other unused slots were hiding anything… Now everything’s working perfectly again. How do you handle configuring this kind of hardware for multiple users at the firm? Do you use locked profiles, or do you systematically reset the workstations after interns have used them?

Re: Managing 3Dconnexion Profiles at the Office
Thanks for the link, but that's not really what I was looking for. I was more interested in how people handle this when several users share the same workstations, rather than the general documentation. We don't have a proper system with locked-down user profiles, so every time someone changes desks, it's a bit of a gamble.
Since that happened, I've made it a habit to check things after every intern leaves, and not just the SpaceMouse. That same evening, I also checked the Chrome bookmarks on that workstation and found a folder the intern had actually named bookmark porn with links sorted by category. Deleted it straight away. Now I check both every time.

Given that the latest driver versions for Windows are installed:
When several users share the same workstation, you can export/import the driver profile.
When this is Windows Server OS and there are multiple users at the same time logged in, you may run into trouble with the 3DxWare driver software as it officially supports Windows 10 OS and Windows 11OS.
