Testers needed for label fix on older devices

Post by Bassquake »

If anybody has an older 3dconnexion device and are missing text labels on the function keys screen, I have a small exe that can get it working again and need testing on other devices!

I have a SpacePilot Pro and I could only use 10.7.4 driver but that meant I couldnt use the CadMouse Compact as it required newer driver. So I made the applet to get the text working again. Now Im on 10.9.14 and both devices works great.

See here for details: https://github.com/Bassquake/Logitech-L ... ot-Pro-Fix

Would appreciate any feedback for other SpacePilot Pro users and even see if it works on the original SpacePilot.

I have an OG Space Pilot!
I'll give this a test as I have a number of Spacemice and getting things to work across differing hardware is a mare.
Hopefully I'll have something useful to feed back.
If there is somewhere that logs errors, let me know and I'll monitor it with my kit.
Cheers

Hi,

I just tried to download the patch.
I cannot see any .exe to download so I tried just pulling the source down as a zip and compiling it with build.cmd
I copied the exe over as instructed, but when using a SpaceNavigator on 10.6.9.3230, trying to set the actions of either of the buttons throws an exception, so it's causing a problem. I need the SpaceNagivator for mobile work, so it renders the exe non-compatible.
Not sure if that is decent feedback, or just an additional headache for a use-case not intended. Thought it worth letting you know however.

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

The SpaceNavigator is in Extended Support with the latest 3DxWare driver versions.
You may want to clean the configuration of 3DxWare on Windows to resolve the exception message.

Not sure why youre using 10.6.9.3230 as thats even older than the already working 10.7.4. The exe is for newer drivers above 10.7.4. You should update to the latest. Better to delete all old drivers and start again to be honest.

Also the exe is in the zip file in Releases here: https://github.com/Bassquake/Logitech-L ... es/tag/1.0.

Also what device are you using?

Are you trying the SpacePilot?

Image

The exe is really for SpacePilot Pro:

I did used to have the SpacePilot but I got rid of them as I couldnt use CadMouse Compact with it. Wish I kept it now to test with!
