I made a right mess of it

I accidentally spilt a soft drink all over my desk the other day.
A bit of it got into my space navigator.

Now the thing works fine, but the buttons are a are quite sticky.
Does anyone know how can I open it to give it a clean?

I'm not worried about voiding the warranty, so if it breaks, I'll just have to buy a new one, but I at least want to have a go at cleaning it myself if I can work out how to get the thing open.
